Is the Acra Milling Machine the best Bridgeport copy around?

Acra Milling Machine. Bridgeport Milling Machines certainly are some of the best American-made milling machines around. Much like a Harley Davidson motorcycle, they are built to be as solid as a rock. A Bridgeport Mill is really beautiful to see in person, bringing to mind a time in America when things were made in the U.S.A.

Bridgeport mill, good or bad

My question: Is the Bridgeport a good machine or is it just, through it's popularity been used hard with abuse? I used one in a shop class and it seemed to work fine for me. I can't believe it's a bad machine since it has so many clones and is the nost popular vertical mill in use. A new Bridgeport is somewhere between 12 and 15K.

Decent machines for training and far superior to the clapped out Bridgeports in the lab. Buy the MSC mill if it's decent and plow the price difference into other equipment.
